ModelRoute has been developed as a three-tiered, web-based SaaS application using JEE technologies. The system employs:

• Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that provides the necessary scalability, redundancy and low latency required for trading applications.
• ESB backbone and JMS queues to integrate with application service providers such as data feeds and financial modeling services.

ModelRoute is deployed as a highly redundant and available server farm running Apache Web servers and JBoss application servers running in a clustered configuration. ModelRoute data is stored in an Oracle database. Market data is provided by ACTIV Financial Systems and price modeling is done using FINCAD libraries.

The system’s graphical user interface (GUI) was developed with Java Server Faces using JBoss RichFaces components.
